Vista, They're Just Not That Into You

From Mark Baggesen, About.com Guide   May 7, 2009

Follow me on:

Microsoft said that Vista may or may not be available to OEMs after the launch of Windows 7 (which we know now will be October 23, 2009). Typically, a Windows OS is available 6 months or longer after the release of a new version. XP is still available almost 3 years after Vista's launch.

Ironically, if Microsoft discontinues selling Vista this year, it could support it for longer than it was actually a product for sale (3 years for sale, 4 years after for support). Said another way: “They're just not that into you... Vista.” Pity. I really like Vista and you should too.

To see what I like about Vista (and there’s LOTS to like about it, check out my article 11 Features to Like About Windows Vista.

Sorry….but I have no desire to join the

“I’m brain dead club..!!”

or

“I buy products that should have never been released into the market place club..!!”

or

Oh never mind…I think you get the idea.

You see Mark, some of us made the decision long ago to forgo the purchase of the sequel to Windows ME.

BTW here is another way to look at Windows 7.
It’s M$ seventh try to hit a Home Run.

Windows 7 the sequel.

So they made it official, all will pay for the Sequel.

Although we will forgo Windows 7 we do plan to purchase Windows later to help celebrate Microsoft’s 100th anniversary.

We feel the bugs can be worked out by then.
