Make Microsoft Accountable For Vista SP2 Problems

Monday June 15, 2009

If you have any problems with a service pack, Microsoft has said that it will provide free support. Why not use this service and make them accountable?

Readers have told me of issues with sound, some graphic programs and that it has not resolved connecting with wireless services after sleep mode. Microsoft wrote an article that speaks to known problems and loss of functionality with Vista SP2. The rule of thumb in feedback is for everyone that complains there are 9 others that are also unhappy.

Now the rant: Is this really a Service Pack or a Beta test? If Microsoft knew this would create problems and released it anyway to users that currently have no problems, isn’t that irresponsible? If I were paranoid, I would say that Microsoft's creating more problems with Vista to help them sell Windows 7 faster. It wouldn't be the first time a business has created a problem to sell a solution...Do no harm only applies to doctors.

There is one big equalizer to the situation: If Vista SP2 gives you problems and Microsoft support does not help you fix it, you can easily uninstall Vista SP2 and revert back to Vista SP1.
