In Windows XP, you can choose between two different Windows and Themes styles. The styles are applied to the window elements such as the desktop, active title bar, and the scrollbar. In the screen shot above, you can see the two styles available.
The Windows XP style rounds the corners of the windows, while the Classic style leaves the corners square. If you choose the Windows XP style, you can change the color scheme or the font size. If you choose the Windows Classic style, you can also use the Advanced Appearances properties to change the colors of individual elements used in the theme.
To get started, open the Control Panel by clicking on the Control Panel link in the Start menu.
