Using Windows keyboard shortcuts is a great way to decrease the time it takes to do tasks on your computer.

  • CTRL+A - select all that’s displayed in your open window or on the screen

  • CTRL+C - copy what’s highlighted (text, a file, an image)

  • CTRL+V – paste what’s highlighted (text, a file, an image)

  • CTRL+P – print what is displayed on your screen (in an open program window)

  • CTRL+Z – undo the last thing you did (whether that’s a text change, or a file deleted)

  • CTRL+Y – re-do the last thing you used the undo function for

  • DELETE – remove what’s highlighted

  • ALT+TAB - move between your open programs and windows

  • ALT+ESC - move through your open programs and windows in the order you opened them

  • ESC – cancel or back out of what you are doing

  • CTRL+B – to bold whatever text is highlighted

  • CTRL while dragging an item – create a copy of the selected item
