Remove startup items from the System Configuration Utility

One other place you should check for unwanted startup items in the System Configuration Utility. To open it:
  1. Click on Run in the Start menu
  2. Type "msconfig" into the textbox and click OK
The System Configuration Utility will open. Click on the Startup tab to see a list of all startup items. To prevent an item from automatically launching on Windows startup, uncheck the box next to the items name. If you're unsure what the item is, you can resize the Start Item, Command, and Location columns so you can see the complete information. You can look in the folder indicated in the location column to determine what the item is, or you can search the Internet for information about the item.

After you delete one item, it's a good idea to restart your computer. Make sure everything works fine before you delete other items.
