Connect the Camera

Windows XP and Vista have the ability to copy digital photos from your camera to your computer. This step by step procedure will show you how to do it.

Note: You do not have to use the photo software that came with the camera to do this task. However, make sure to install the Windows driver software (if provided by the camera manufacturer), so Windows can recognize your camera.

  1. Use a USB cable to connection the digital camera to your computer; turn on your camera. Windows will recognize that a device has been added and show a menu with several options.

  2. Click on the option “Copy pictures to a folder on my computer using Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard” and click “OK.”

  3. The Scanner and Camera Wizard will pop up on the screen. Click “Next”.
