Add media to the Windows Media Player 11 library

The Windows Media Player library helps you organize your digital media collection. Songs and videos are often added automatically to the library, but you can add media manually or change the options for how media is added.

By default, media in your Music, Pictures, and Videos folders will be added to your library automatically. The library doesn't actually contain another copy of the file; instead, the library provides a link to the file so you can listen to or watch it easily. When you add another media file to your media folders, WMP11 will automatically add the file to your media library.

You can have WMP automatically add media from other folders. To add other folders for WMP to watch, begin by clicking on the small arrow below the Library tab and click on Add to library...
